BROCCOLI
Long Stem Bastone - 335
Long Stem Broccoli Bastone fits into the same class as the Registered and Trademarked variety Tenderstem. Bastone has very attractive stems with beautiful domed heads that can be used for both export and local markets. Bastone is rich in Vitamins and Iron and is widely adaptable thus making its mark in the culinary world. Bastone is ready to harvest 60-70 days from planting and picking for 4-6 weeks makes it an excellent choice. We recommend planting Bastone at a density of between 40-45m per Ha.
Long Stem Candelabrum - 325
Long Stem Broccoli Candelabrum is a trailblazer in its field as the first commercial purple long stem broccoli available in South Africa. Candelabrum fits into the same class as Menorah but only with purple curds against Menoras green curds. Candelabrum is widely adaptable and making its mark in the culinary world. Ready to harvest 55-60 days from planting and picking for 4-6 weeks makes it a valuable asset. We recommend planting Candelabrum at a density of between 40-45m per Ha.

CABBAGE
Chinese - 109
In the Chinese Cabbage stable we have 3 different varieties. Bishop that is a 2kg Green Chinese Cabbage with Dm, Club Root, Soft Rot, Bolting resistance. Cardinal that is a Red Chinese Cabbage of 2 kg. Mystique which is a Baby Chinese Cabbage growing up to a maximum size of 1kg.
Pointed Sirocco - 31
Sirocco is our Pointed Cabbage which matures at a weight of 1 - 1.5kg and takes roughly 50 - 60 days to do so. Tolerant to YR and BR. Small habit which allows a higher plant stand.
Red Pearl - 342
Red Pearl is a mature round head red cabbage which takes between 70 and 80 days to mature in the summer growing season. Red Pearl can be planted in the cool season and should take approximately 10 - 20 days more to mature and will retain its round heads. Red Pearl has excellent field tolerance and has good bolting tolerance.
Savoy Cervena - 30
Cervena is a red semi Savoy Cabbage.
Savoy Eagle - 110
Savoy Cabbage Eagle is an All Year Savoy Cabbage. It grows on a compact plant and produces a nearly round head. Eagle is suited to both baby and mature market segments.
Savoy Falcon - 111
Savoy Cabbage Falcon is an All Year Savoy Cabbage. It grows on a compact plant and produces a nearly round head. Falcon is suited to both baby and mature market segments.
Template - 343
Template is a Summer Cabbage. It has a compact plant and a round, rock hard head that weighs between 3 and 4 kg. Template matures in approximately 75 - 80 days. Template has YR and BR resistance and handles heat very well.
CAULIFLOWER
Colours - 119
In the coloured Cauliflower range we have Island, Jessica and Macarena. Island has purple curds and takes on average 190 days to mature. Jessica is a lime coloured romanesco that matures in around 140 days. Macarena is a green cauliflower that matures in around 140 days. All 3 of the above mentioned products can be seeded for open field production at a density of between 35000 and 45000 seeds per hectare.
Cornibus - 120
Cornibus is a loose head Cauliflower that produces a large head with long stems that easily gets cut into loose florets.
Figaro - 121
Figaro is well suited as a mature hot season Cauliflower. It is also ideal as a baby. Figaro takes on average 50 - 65 days as a baby and 75-80 days fully mature. The head of Figaro is brilliant white and has tight wrapper leaves. Figaro shows some resistance to BR.
Gonzales - 122
Gonzales is a baby Cauliflower. Gonzales takes on average 50 - 55 days before being picked as a baby. Gonzales has a snow white curd and has good wrapper leaves protecting against sunburn.
Vassalo - 123
Vassallo is well suited as a mature cool season Cauliflower. It is also ideal as a baby. Vassallo takes on average 50 - 65 days as a baby and 75 fully mature. Vassallo is snow white and has tight wrapper leaves.
Verdissimo - 124
Verdissimo is a green Romanesco well suited to both baby and mature fruits. Verdissimo shows field tolerance to Fusarium.
CELERY
Copia F1 - 344
Copia have long heavy stems and can be cultivated All Year Round with dark rich green leaf colour. Copia is very uniform and has very good holding ability. Copia has shown good tolerance to bolting, cracking and Cercospora.
Lungissima - 126
Lunghissima has an exceptionally long shank and maintains its length in winter. Once cut to fit into sleeves the tops are then sold as soup celery.

Diego - 33
Diego falls into the longer segment, measuring 36 - 38 cm with smooth dark green coloured fruits. It is best suited to the cooler season. It is suited to both soil and bag cultivation practices. Should you need XL fruits it can be planted in summer but attention must be paid to the control of Pm. Diego shows tolerance to Pm, Cmv and Dm.
HERBS
Basil - 147
In Basil we keep Basil Curly, Basil Ibis (purple), Basil Mammolo, Basil Piccio, Basil Profumo, Basil Riviera Ligure, Basil Smooth leaf, Basil Sweet Leaf. The latter specifically for pots. For more information about the different types of Basil, feel free to contact the office.
Basil Garibaldi - 345
Basil Garibaldi has a medium plant size and a strong branch structure producing many side shoots for better yield and is slow to bolt. The leaves are very thick and dark green in colour, medium sized, oval convex shape. Garibaldi has excellent shelf life with a particularly intense flavour. Due to the very little lemon taste, it is preferred by the Italian pesto producers. Garibaldi can be produced for cut leaves for the fresh and processing market. Garibaldi has IR to Peronospora Belbahrii and Fusarium.
Chives - 148
In Chives we keep Broad Leaf Chives and Fine Leaf Chives. Broad Leaf Chives often is referred to as Garlic Chives and the Fine Leaf Chives as French Chives.
Dill - 346
In Dill we keep the standard Common Dill. Common uses for Dill include using the seeds for spices and the leaves for cooking.
Fennel Goliath F1 - 149
Goliath F1 was bred for uniformity, speed and bulb colour. Goliath F1 has a brilliant white coloured bulb with crisp crunchy flesh that has excellent taste, with a medium compact plant perfect for summer production. Goliath F1 shows good field tolerance to over maturing.
Fennel Romy - 347
Fennel Romy was selected for uniformity, rapid growth and taste when producing baby fennel for the local and export market. If all goes well and in the summer season, Fennel Romy takes about 50 to 55 days to mature from seeding.

In the Parsley stable we can offer 3 different types of parsley. Berlica, Italian and Moss Curled. Berlica is a rooted parsley. Italian is the trusted flat leaf parsley, and Arava is the frilly Moss Curled leaf type. Whe have treated and untreated seeds of both Italian Flat Leaf and Arava Moss Curled.
Tarragon Russian - 348
In Tarragon we keep the standard Russian Tarragon which grows from seeds and becomes a bush roughly 1.2m tall in ideal conditions. Russian Tarragon is a fairly hardy plant and should grow just about anywhere. Russian Tarragon is best suited for culinary purposes as it has a good aroma and great flavour.
Wild And Cultivated Rocket - 151
FIn Rocket we keep both Wild and Cultivated Rocket. We have the Common Cultivated and Common Wild Rocket as well as a Wild Rocket for Summer Heat with Slow bolting properties and one for Winter production. We also have a Wild Rocket suitable for once-off mechanical pick and All Year Round Production.
KALE
General - 152
In the Kale stable we have a couple different Kales. We start off with Cremisi which has a Curly red leaf with a red stem, Crimson Garden which has a curly green leaf with a red stem, Chino which has a curly green leaf with a green stem, Ivory Garden which has a curly green leaf with a white stem, Koral which has a spiked green leaf with a red stem and Tosca which has a black long leaf.
ONIONS & LEEKS
Cesena - 155
Cesena has become a variety recognised not only for its adaptability but also for quality and yield. It is a very long, large leek for the general market but it has now succeeded in setting the standard in the local baby leek sector.
Fiamma - 223
Fiamma is our red spring onion. Fiamma has done well growing all year round.
Juvon Red - 225
Juvon Red is a red spring onion suitable for cultivation all year round. Juvon Red has multiple red skin layers with vibrant green leaves and a surprisingly small root plate at the base of the plant.
Katama - 226
Katama is a green Spring Onion that can be cultivated all year round. Katama presents well with itís brilliant white base and vibrant green leaves.

Flava has been developed specifically for the niche markets. The plant produces Golden Yellow Coloured pods roughly 90mm x 21mm in size. Flava has very crisp pods that have a sweet taste which looks spectacular in a salad and can also be eaten raw.

Our carefully selected strain of Oregon Sugar Pod II has shown very good tolerance to Powdery Mildew, Common Wilt 1, Enation Mosaic Virus & Western Pea Streak Virus. Our Oregon Sugar Pod ll is the variety of choice of all the major chain stores and the export market.
Mange Tout Sweet Horison - 170
Sweet Horison was selected for its resistance to cupping. Being slightly darker than O.S.P. it displays beautifully in the punnet. The aggressive plant ensures above average yields. Ideally suited to both local and the export market.
Snap Lusaka - 171
Lusaka has been developed specifically for the export market. The plant produces stringless, even sized pods 8-9 cm x 15 mm which are medium to dark green. Lusaka is a determinate plant not requiring trellising. Lusaka shows good field tolerance to Powdery Mildew.

Nairobi has been developed specifically for the export market. The plant produces stringless, even sized pods which are medium dark green. Nairobi is the variety of choice of the major chain stores. Nairobi shows some field tolerance to Powdery Mildew.

PEPPER HOT
Ancho Gigante - 175
Ancho Gigante is a Ancho Poblano Type. Callisto and Calypso are Trinidad Scorpion types with around 1.9 million scoville units.
Big Jim - 39
Big Jim was bred specifically for the processing industry. Big Jim has big fruits that are bright red measuring in at 150 - 180 mm long and 25 - 30 mm thick that have a lot of bite and flavour.
Birds Eye Chisa - 36
Chisa is a lime green to bright red Hot Pepper. Chisa has a lot of fire and plenty of flavour. Chisa measures in at 70ñ90 mm long and 9ñ11 mm thick weighing 4.5 gr. Chisa bears fruits upright on the plant. Chisa is VERY tolerant to hot moist weather.
Birds Eye Decline - 180
Decline falls into the bird eye class of hot pepper and measures 60-65 mm in length by 10-11 mm thick. When seeded in the cooler months Decline remains within the Export spec size. Decline is an exceptionally hot pepper which has flavour and is surprisingly tasty. Decline is tolerant to BW.
Birds Eye Ferocity - 327
Ferocity falls between the Large Birdseye and Thai class measuring 70ñ90 mm long by 10ñ 13 mm thick with roughly 350000 scoville units. Ferocity has good holding capabilities with excellent quality and flavour. The fruit on Ferocity starts as a deep vibrant green and turns to a dark shiny red colour when ripe and bears an exceptional yield. Ferocity can be planted at around 35000 seeds per Ha and shows very good field disease tolerances.
Birds Eye Firecracker - 355
Firecracker falls in the Birdseye class measuring 60mm long by 8 mm thick. Firecracker has good holding capabilities with excellent fruit quality and flavour. Firecracker has high heat and an exceptional yield for its class. Perfectly suited to the Fresh Market and Pre-Pack Industries. Firecracker shows very good field disease tolerances.
Birds Eye Incline - 189
Incline falls into the bird eye class of hot pepper and measures 50 mm in length by 10 mm thick. Incline is an exceptionally hot pepper which has flavour and is surprisingly tasty. Incline is tolerant to BW.
Cayenne Cosmic - 179
Cosmic falls in the Cayenne class measuring 120 - 130 mm by 13 - 14 mm thick. Cosmic has good holding capabilities with good fruit quality, flavour, intense heat and an exceptional yield. Cosmic has resistance to Virus and is tolerant to PB. Cosmic keeps its size well through the cooler season.
Cayenne Gloed - 185
Gloed falls in the cayennei class measuring 140 - 160 mm long by 20 - 25 mm thick. Gloed has thick walls, good holding capabilities with good fruit quality, flavour, high heat and an exceptional yield. Gloed keeps its size well through the cooler season. Gloed has resistance to Tmv, Pvy and Bls 1-3.
Fresno Lemone - 193
Lemone is a large Fresno type hot pepper with dimensions of 150mm x 50mm and tipping the scale round 90g. Lemone is not extremely hot, but has good taste for a hot pepper.
Habanero Mixed - 186
When it comes to Habanero, we have them all. Red, Yellow, Orange, White and even Brown. Typically a Habanero will grow to a length of no more than 5 maybe 6cm and range in heat between 100000 and 350000 scovilles.
Jalapeno Chispa - 37
Chispa is a largish Jalapeno with a dark green skin and has brilliant flavour. Chispa measures in at 70mm x 30mm and should weigh around 38g when mature.
Jalapeno Fantastique - 182
Hot Pepper Fantastique is a Jalapeno type which measures 8-9 cm long and 3-3.5 cm wide with a wall thickness of 4 mm and weighs roughly 30 gr. Although mild by chillie standards it is relatively pungent but has a superb flavour. Fantastique shows good resistance to checking.
Jalapeno Leda - 356
Marvellous falls in the Large Thai class measuring 150 - 160 mm by 14 - 15 mm thick and weighs 18 gr. Because of the thick flesh Marvellous has good holding capabilities with good fruit quality, flavour, extreme heat and an exceptional yield. Marvellous keeps its size well through the cooler season. Marvellous is resistant to PVY.
Jalapeno Lemon Spice - 192
Lemon Spice is a bright yellow Jalapeno with medium heat. It looks very appealing in a fresh salad.
Jalapeno Magnifique - 357
Hot Pepper Magnifique is a smooth skin dark green to bright red Jalapeno which measures between 9 - 10 cm long and 2.8 - 3 cm wide with a wall thickness of 3 - 4 mm and weighs roughly 35 gr. Bizet falls in the large Serrano class measuring 110 - 120 mm long by 20 - 23 mm thick. Bizet has very thick walls, exceptional shelflife, good fruit quality, remarkable flavour, good heat and an exceptional yield. Bizet picks very easily off the robust and healthy plant and keeps its size well through the cooler season.
Thai Exhibition - 181
Exhibition falls in the Large Thai class measuring 120 - 130 mm by 14 - 15 mm thick and weighs 7 gr. Because of the thick flesh Exhibition has good holding capabilities with good fruit quality, flavour, Intense heat and an exceptional yield. Exhibition keeps its size well through the cooler season.
Thai Fiamma - 183
Fiamma falls in the large Thai class measuring 140 - 150 mm by 11 - 12 mm thick and weighs 8 gr. Starting life as lime green it turns to a bright red at maturity. Because of the thick flesh Fiamma has good holding capabilities with good fruit quality, extreme heat and an exceptional yield. Fiamma keeps its size well through the cooler season.
PEPPER HOT NUCLEAR
Bhut Jolokia, Rising Sun - 365
Rising Sun is our Bhut Jolokia type hot pepper. Rising Sun measures round 6 - 8cm long and 2 - 2.5cm at the shoulders. As heat goes, Rising Sun tips the scales at around 1 million scorching scovilles.
Callisto & Calypso - 328
Callisto and Calypso are Trinidad Scorpion types measuring around 1 million scoville units, for those that like things hot!
Iguala - 329
Iguala is our Carolina Reaper Hot Pepper. Everybody knows Carolina Reaper to be the hottest pepper out there measuring well over a million scovilles, for those who want to punish their tastebuds!
PEPPER SWEET
Athena - 338
Athena is a hybrid Red Pepper for field production that grows to a height of about 1.2 m when trellised and bears fruits roughly 90 x 90 mm x 220 - 250 gr. The fruits of Athena change from green to a Post Box red when ripe and should be planted at 33 m plants per Ha. Athena has resistance to L4, Tswv.
Field Jalasweet - 208
Sweet Pepper Jalasweet is a Jalapeno type pepper with no or VERY little burn measuring 7 - 8 cm in length by 2.0 ñ 2.5 cm wide with a wall thickness of roughly 3 mm and weighing roughly 25 gr. It has a typical Sweet pepper flavour. Jalasweet should be picked green. Jalasweet shows good tolerance to checking.
Granit - 339
Granit is a hybrid Yellow Pepper for field production that grows to a height of about 1.2 m when trellised and bears fruits roughly 90 x 90 mm x 220 - 250 gr. The fruits of Granit change from green to a brilliant yellow. Granit should be planted at 33 m plants per Ha and has resistance to L4 & Tswv.
Kapya - 209
In the Kapya class we have the 3 main colours available. Red, Yellow and Orange. Kapya is a sweet pepper measuring in at 150mm x 50mm that weighs 90g. All 3 colours of Kapya Sweet Peppers are resistant to Tmv2.
Marconi - 67
In the Marconi stable (that is fruit measuring 200mm x 70mm and weighing 300g) we have Red, Yellow and Orange in colour. Marconi Red has Tmv2, (L3) & Tswv resistance. Marconi Yellow and Marconi Orange only have resistance to Tmv2.
Ramiro - 66
In the Ramiro Sweet Pepper class we have all 3 colours, Red, Yellow and Orange. Ramiro Peppers measure 200mm x 30mm and should weigh around 120g when mature. All 3 of our Ramiro Sweet Peppers have Tmv1 resistance.
Sweet Heart - 65
In the Sweet Heart Pepper Range we have the 3 main colours. Red, Yellow and Orange. They are very small and very sweet with brix as high as 11 - 12.
SPINACH
Skate - 334
Skate is a hybrid spinach with slightly elongated spoon shaped leaf suitable for cooler season production due to its bolting tolerance. Skate has a nice dark deep green colour with extremely thick leaves. Skate takes approximately 50ñ55 days to start harvesting and has resistance to Dm 1ñ7, 11, 13, 15 and 16.
SWEET MELON
HoneyGold - 333
Honey Gold is a green fleshed Honeydew Sweet Melon. It matures in 85-90 days in the main growing season and produces fruits weighing 2.5-3.5 kg. Honey Gold is round to rounded oval in shape with a very smooth ivory rind when ripe. Honey Gold has resistance to Fusarium 1, 2 and excellent field tolerance to Powdery Mildew 1.
Saginaw - 263
Saginaw is an Orange fleshed Western Shipper Sweet Melon. It matures in 80-85 days weighing 2.0-2.5 kg. Saginaw is oval to round with a very coarse rind. Saginaw is monoecious and is very well suited to season change when bees are not very active. Saginaw shows resistance to Fusarium 0, 1, 2 and Powdery Mildew.
Saponi - 265
Saponi is an Ivory skinned bright green fleshed Honeydew Sweet Melon. It matures in 80-85 days weighing 1.8-2.2 kg. Saponi has high brix with a small cavity and is round to oval with very a strong plant resulting in good field tolerances.
Seneca - 266
Seneca is an Ivory/Pale green fleshed Yellow Canary Sweet Melon. It matures in 75-80 days weighing 3-4 kg. Seneca has a yellow skin, high brix and is oval with resistance to Fusarium 1, 2, Alternaria and Gummy Stem Blight.
Shanel - 267
Shanel is a green fleshed Honeydew Sweet Melon. It matures in 85-90 days weighing 2.5-3 kg. Shanel is round with a very smooth ivory rind. Shanel has resistance to Fusarium 1, 2 and Powdery Mildew 1.
Shuar - 268
Shuar is an Orange fleshed Western Shipper Sweet Melon. It matures in 80-83 days weighing 3-3.5 kg. Shuar is oval to round with high brix and a very coarse rind. Sioux has resistance to Fusarium 0, 1, 2. Powdery Mildew 2 and Alternaria.
Sioux - 269
Sioux is an Orange fleshed Western Shipper Sweet Melon. It matures in 80-85 days weighing 2.5-3 kg. Sioux is oval to round with a very coarse rind. Sioux has resistance to Fusarium 0, 1, 2. Pm 2, Alternaria and Angular Leaf Spot.
Sooke - 270
Sooke is a unique orange fleshed Honeydew Sweet Melon. It matures in 85-90 days weighing 3-3.5 kg. Sooke is round with a very smooth ivory rind. Sooke has resistance to Fusarium 1, 2 and Powdery Mildew 1.
Squaxin - 271
Squaxin is an Ivory fleshed Piel de Sapo Sweet Melon. It matures in 85-90 days weighing 2.5-3.5 kg. Squaxin is oval to round wilt high brix, unique flavour and a green mottled rind. Squaxin has resistance to Powdery Mildew 1.
